On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, the Rivers Edge Veterans Association partnered with the Rivers Edge Golf Club to host a Foursomes for Heroes. Foursomes for Heroes is a program sponsored by Operation North State (ONS), based in Winston-Salem, NC. ONS organizes events for disabled veterans such as golf outings and fishing trips. REVA and the REGC were honored to support a golfing event here at our golf club for a disabled veteran from Leland and a representative of ONS. Ten (10) REVA members and members of the REGC staff participated in the rain-shortened golf event which was followed by lunch at the Double Eagle Grill. The golf was enjoyable, but the camaraderie between the veteran and the REVA members was the real story. For his service, the veteran was awarded a REVA Honor Coin, which we know he will always cherish. REVA would like to thank ONS and the REGC for their support for making the event possible. Moving forward REVA and REGC will be hosting more of these events. When we do, please stop by and shake the hand of our heroes.
