We have some great par 3 holes here at Rivers Edge.  We want to give some tips on how to play each of them to help visiting golfers out a bit.  We will talk about the shots and the perspective from the amateur golfer since that is what we cater too here.  There are chances for birdies on the 3 pars but don’t think that each of them can’t produce a much higher number.  Let’s take a look at these four holes now.

The first par 3 on the course is the 5th hole.  It is a very scenic and demanding hole.  The tee box is just in front of the clubhouse looking down across some marshland to a large, round green.   It is not a long hole but it does call for proper club selection or disaster awaits.  Most players will have a short iron or wedge off the tee.  The green is large and receptive.  Long and left are the safe bailout areas.  A solid shot to the middle of the green is the safest play.  Par is a good score here.  Take the two putt and move on.

The 8th hole is a much tougher par 3.  The white tee plays 165 yards and there is a waste bunker that runs to the front of the green on the left hand side.  Once again the putting surface is quite large and receptive to tee shots but this one is more sloped so just hitting the center of the green is not guarantee of a good look at birdie.  Mid to long iron or hybrid is the play off the tee.  Par is a very good score.

No.12 is the next par 3 we get to play.  It is a straightforward hole.  White tees are 135 yards looking at a green surrounded by sand traps.  Golfers need to pick the right club and put a solid swing on the ball.  This should be a chance at birdie and the best of all the par 3s.

The last par 3 at Rivers Edge is the 165 yard (from white tees) 15th hole.  It is slightly uphill and the tee shot requires a carry over a little water and a large bunker in front and right of the green.  The hole is back in the trees providing an arena type effect when looking from the tee box.  Golfers should take one more club than they think.  This hole always seems to play longer than the yardage.  The putting surface is round and a good tee shot should leave a decent chance at birdie.

We hope this help!  Please come out and play Rivers Edge we look forward to having you visit.
