On Monday March 5, 2018 Rivers Edge was honored to be one of six facilities to host the March Championship presented by Golf Tourism Solutions. The March Championship is a 54-hole, individual net stroke play golf tournament. Enjoy three days of great golf and atmosphere while competing in flights against people with a similar handicap. Operated by GTS, the same people who bring you the Myrtle Beach World Amateur, Fall Classic, Preseason Classic, Veterans Golf Classic and Palmetto High School Golf Championship.

The event on Monday was scheduled to kick off with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start including a field of 108 total players. With a brisk overnight low of 33 degrees we had a minor 30 min frost delay. Once the sun peaked above the tree line things warmed up fast and the participants were off to a wonderful day of golf with sunny skies and temps in the low 60s. The entire day went as smooth as you could ask any tournament with 200+ participants. The feedback from our customers was outstanding and much praise for the golf course with the occasional victim on our famous hole #9, Arnies Revenge, a 509 yard Par 5 from the regular men’s tee to a peninsula green surrounded by marsh! Would you have the stones to go for it?

Hole #9 Par 5 570 yards Arnies Revenge

Closest to the pin prizes were awarded to the following competitors;

  • Hole #5- Ricardo Bartley
  • Hole #8- James Ross
  • Hole #15- Chris Howell
